The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the superintendent, the deputy superintendent for operations is responsible for ensuring prison security and for overseeing the physical plant, food services, and other inmate needs. The deputy superintendent supervises a staff that carries out and coordinate these various activities. Personnel action case files are created to commend or discipline employees (officers) who report to the deputy superintendent.
